Star Box vs. Traditional Claw Machines: Who Should Buy This Machine?

A traditional claw machine relies on a mechanical claw with variable, often-criticized grip strength, which leads to player frustration and the common complaint of “almost winning” without ever picking anything up. Star Box replaces the claw with a real forklift mechanism that lifts and delivers an entire blind box directly to the player — a more positive, mechanically reliable experience with no grip-strength ambiguity. Star Box is the better fit for FEC operators and arcade owners who want a 2-player blind box format with two independently tunable win rates per side, and for venues that have had complaints about claw reliability and want a mechanically different alternative. A traditional claw machine remains the lower-cost option for operators who specifically want the suspense of a grip-based pickup mechanic.

Can the win rate be adjusted?

Yes. Star Box lets you set the win rate independently for each prize zone and each player station from the operator settings panel.

What blind box sizes are compatible?
